Delivery Policy

Cassegrain Wines delivery service for domestic orders is provided by Australia Post eParcel (and in some cases Regional Road Express).

All inventory is held at the Cassegrain Winery in Port Macquarie, and orders are packed and made available for collection by Austalia Post on the same or next working day. Australia Post collect deliveries from the Winery every afternoon from Monday to Friday.

Delivery lead time to the customer varies from between 3~14 working days depending on the distance from lodgement at Port Macquarie. Orders can be tracked via the Australia Post site with your tracking ID which is available once the order has been despatched.

If you are not in attendance when delivery is made, the courier will follow any instructions about where to leave the parcel, or where there are none, a note will be left and you will need to pick up your package from your local post office (or local Regional Road Express depot).

We currently do not offer international shipping.

If products are delivered in a damaged state or packaging has been tampered with, please contact our Sales Department within 7 days of delivery. We will investigate the problem with our freight provider and where required resupply or refund damaged product.

Returns and Refunds Policy

Cassegrain Wines stands behind the quality of every bottle of wine we make and sell. If you are dissatisfied with the quality of our product for any reason, you can choose to exchange your products for replacements of equivalent value, or return unused products for a full refund.

Returns of your (entire) purchase can be made up to 4 weeks from date of delivery. Products being collected/returned must be in the original box and/or packaging.

Complaints about the quality of a single bottle or bottles within your order are accepted up to 12 months after despatch, and subject to you advising us of the problem/fault, the value of the faulty wine will be refunded to your card/account. Return of the unused wine is of course not required.

This replace or refund policy is offered in good faith, to be used in genuine cases where you have been unsatisfied with your purchase. We however reserve the right to refuse refund/return if there is evidence that this policy is being misused or abused.

Please contact our Sales Department (details in Contact Us) as soon as possible to advise us of any concerns over the quality of the products received.

Once your return is received by our team, your refund or exchange will be processed. Please note that depending on your credit card company and bank, it may take an additional 2-10 business days after your credit is applied for it to post to your account.

Environment Policy

Cassegrain Wines believes we have an obligation to protect and conserve our natural environment for future generations. We believe good environmental management will preserve and improve both the environment in which we live and work, as well as the safety and quality of the products we make.

Cassegrain is committed to high standard of environmental performance in our vineyards and winery, complying with all regulations set by the Department of the Environment and all other regulatory authorities.

At the Cassegrain Estate and Winery, recycling programs are in place for all paper, cardboard, metal and plastics. All undamaged cartons and dividers used in our Cellar Door, Restaurant and winery events are recovered and reused.

Our estate is not connected with town water. All water used by Cassegrain Wines is rainwater collected from the roof of our own winery, warehouse, and restaurant, and stored in massive tanks (seriously, really huge… like way bigger than we need). Water for irrigation of trees and gardens onsite comes either from recycled water from the winery, or from our own dams on the estate.

All winery residues and solid waste (marc & sludge) generated by the winery is composted on the marc pad, and then applied to the vineyard to increase organic matter and aid retention of moisture and nutrients in the soil.

Cassegrain Winery has proudly been chosen by Tesla Motors for the site of its first supercharger station north of Sydney. We are very proud to be involved with and support the roll-out of this ground-breaking environmental technology in our small part of this big planet.

Grape Growing and Wine Making Policy

Although the Cassegrain winery is located in Port Macquarie, only a small proportion of the grapes we source come from the Hastings Valley. Some grapes (like semillon and chambourcin) thrive in our warm maritime climate, and these are ideal for certain wine styles.

However the majority of our grapes are sourced from other cooler climate regions in NSW. The Cassegrain family are farmers born and bred in NSW, and it is our policy to support the grape growers of NSW – we source all fruit for our wines from NSW.

Cassegrain has always recognised the importance that terroir play in determining grape characteristics and we source grapes from many different regions of New South Wales ranging from cool climates to warm climates and low and high altitudes which allow us to produce wines in a range of varieties and styles.

We work closely with all of our grape growers in Hastings River, New England, Hunter Valley, Central Ranges (Orange and Mudgee), Tumbarumba and Rylstone in order to produce fruit of the style and character we are seeking for the given variety and wine style. Chief Winemaker John Cassegrain and Senior Winemaker Alex Cassegrain regularly drive thousands of kilometres to visit each of our growers in the various regions to discuss and agree on vineyard management and pruning, cropping, and timing for harvest.

Our winemakers also create wines blended from the grapes of different regions which permits the building of layers of flavour and complexity. Being multi regional has the added advantage that we are not dependent on one climate, which helps our production to be more consistent.

Beautiful Gardens Policy

Cassegrain believes that the natural beauty of trees, flowers, gardens, lakes, wildlife, sunshine, and cool breezes is important to refresh and reinvigorate the human soul and spirit. It’s in our DNA.

For that purpose we have created an oasis for travelers on the M1 Motorway, surrounding our winery and restaurant with gardens, forests, a chain of ponds, vineyards, horse stables, and other havens for wildlife and places of natural beauty – for the benefit and enjoyment of all of our staff and visitors.

It is our policy to make our gardens open and accessible to all visitors, including the provision of picnic baskets for those visitors who choose to enjoy a meal in any one of our gardens (please book in advance through twotriplefour by Bills).

Family Friendly Policy

Cassegrain believes in the importance of family, and we welcome and encourage families to visit our estate, winery and restaurant. It is our policy to make all parts of our estate family friendly.

Our Cellar Door has a children’s play area, and our restaurant offers facilities and meals for children, and we will do all we can to accommodate any special needs we are aware of.

Our restaurant, cellar door and (certain parts of the) winery are also wheelchair accessible. Please contact staff if any assistance is required to access any part of our estate or facilities.

Slow Food and Good Coffee Policy

The M1 Motorway between Brisbane and Sydney offers precious little to travelers in the way of food and refreshments other than the ubiquitous fast food franchises. For daytime travelers, the Cassegrain estate, including twotriplefour by Bills, is a notable exception. We believe just because you are travelling you and your family and friends shouldn’t have to eat that junk!

It is our policy to offer travelers on the M1 motorway (and Port Macquarie locals) a slow food option.

We also offer excellent barista-made coffee and a range of premium tea flavours. Decaffeinated beverages, plus a range of low fat, lactose free and non-dairy options, are also available.

Of course we also serve a range of quality wines to enjoy responsibly with your meal (by the glass or bottle, and you can take away any wine unused in a bottle).

Local Produce Policy

The Cassegrain family have been settled in the Hastings valley for three generations, and are loyal and conspicuous supporters of local farmers and other local premium food ingredients such as Hastings River Oysters, mussels and fresh fish, New England premium beef, Comboyne and Binnorie Dairy cheeses, and the best of other local seafood, cured meats, smoked smallgoods, breads and pastries, plus seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Many of these premium local ingredients are offered for sale at our Cellar Door and twotriplefour by Bills plus during various markets, festivals and events held at the estate.

Pets at the Estate

Well behaved pets are welcome in most areas of the Estate, however it is the responsibility of owners to ensure the safety of their pets, and to clean up any little situations, for the comfort and safety of staff and other guests.

Pets must be securely leashed and properly supervised at all times.

Pets are not permitted within our enclosed food and wine preparation and service areas (Cellar Door or twotriplefour by Bills Restaurant), however there are several “puppy waiting areas” where pets can be safely leashed where they will be safe, dry and comfortable while waiting.

Special arrangements will be made for guide dogs or companion dogs, and if you have any special requests or requirements relating to your pet(s), please contact us and we will do our best!
